Weight Loss

Real, lasting weight loss does not happen overnight.  It’s a journey, sometimes the path is clear and easy to follow.  Other times it feels like you’re way off course and your car is in the ditch.  There are no magic bullets or quick fixes, but if you stick with it, you’ll get there.

You can definitely lose the weight you’ve always wanted to lose, but it’s going to mean some work and effort on your part.  It’s going to mean doing your educating yourself and doing your homework.  Prepare yourself for a lot of  soul searching and while you  to get to the bottom of some of the things you do (or don’t do) and any mindless eating habits you might have.  You will chip away at it all piece by piece.  Just keep going.

So if you’re new to this journey, I wish you luck as you get started!  The time is going to pass either way. What if you could emerge at some future point in body you feel amazing in?  What could that Future You look like? What could that Future You feel like? You can absolutely look and feel amazing if you’re willing to put in the effort and do the work that it takes to get there.

My weight loss journey began a long time ago. I’ve learned a lot along the way and I’m still learning.  I can tell you though that being smaller is well worth all the effort.  Yoga is easier. Running is easier. Physical activity of all kinds is easier. I run faster now because there is less of me to move forward. Yoga is a lot less uncomfortable than it use to be because there is less of me to hold up and get in the way during poses.

I’m sure that sounds far from humble, I’m frank because I want to express how different and good it feels to be smaller.  I want to relay that it CAN happen for you too, as impossible as it may feel right at this moment.

What follows here is a collection of some of the many lessons I’ve learned on my journey to my healthy weight.  I share what I’ve learned in the hope that this might help you on your journey too.
