Caterpillar Kick Counts

I planned a long ride for this morning knowing I didn’t have to rush back with Zakman on vacation.

I prepped a pound of strawberries and chowed about half a pound before my ride.

Headed out on my bike on this perfect summer morning for 15.4 miles in 1 hour and 1 minute.

Upon my return I promptly polished off the other half pound of strawberries and the last of my pineapple too.

Yes, I practice dish conservation.

I checked in on our little buddy this morning too.

Brown Pupa

It’s been one of those days.

What exactly does that sign mean you ask? No yelling.

Now don’t get me wrong, I try not to yell. But you might say that I’ve been known to raise my voice. Sometimes I yell more than or louder than I’d like to admit. But I promise that I DO TRY not to yell. Some days I’m more successful than others.

Monday Mess

Today’s workout can be filed under: ohmygodwhatthehellhappenedtothishouse?!

You know it’s been a busy weekend when the house is a disaster on Monday morning.

I knew a rest day was in order when I wasn’t pumped about my run yesterday. Even though I was glad I ran after I got going, my reluctance was also my sign that it was time for a day off.

I swapped today’s work out time for an hour of getting caught up house work and then another hour catching up on emails and cleaning up my desk. Around 8 I felt hungry enough for breakfast.

Be Happy! It’s Friday!

One might think that as a stay at home mom Friday would seem like any other day, weekend or not, and in some ways it is like any other day… but I can’t completely shake the Friday mentality that’s ingrained in us from early on. Of course I enjoy having Zak home for two days to help share the child rearing duties! And I enjoy his company too I suppose. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A Salad as Big as My Head

See? I’m not kidding!

I ate the whole dang thing!

It was exactly the same as yesterday’s apple, tofu, cashew, feta, miso salad but with mushrooms today too.

Maxine helped with today’s afternoon snack: Magenta Monsters. Magenta would be Maxine’s new favorite color.

I don’t know how magenta these really were but we rolled with it!

And when no one was looking I tossed in a few spinach leaves and they didn’t even notice! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m getting them acclimated to the taste of spinach *insert evil cackle here*

What a Crock

For lunch today I made one of my favorite salads.

Red leaf lettuce, spinach, 3/4 of a large Gala apple, chopped (I ate the other 1/4 while I prepped) some tomato and basil feta cheese, cubes of extra firm tofu and a few cashews.

Everything into a large bowl, then I added 2 Tbsp of this amazing Miso dressing.

Cover and then shake like a Polaroid picture.

Shake It

When I say tossed salad, I mean tossed salad.

That Kind of Day

June 4th, 2009 | Posted by Alison in Short or Sweet - (3 Comments)

A snacky kind of day.

A blowing the annoying cotton wood seeds kind of day.

A playing with a stick in the water kind of day.

A staticky kind of day.

A green monster in disguise kind of day.

A bath time kind of day.

A making popcorn kind of day.

A put the kids to bed early because Zak’s working late and I’m ready for a break kind of day.
