It’s not Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I can’t give some thought to all the things I’m thankful for these days.
I’m thankful for kids that are too big to fit down the laundry chute.
I’m grateful that the little one who I worry COULD possibly fit down there played at the downstairs laundry chute location that is three feet off the floor.
I’d like to give thanks for salad and what a portable meal it can be. Thank you Gladware for making lunch possible at my new home away from home, while taking a little unpacking break before heading home to get ready for an evening out.
I’m appreciative for holiday office parties that give me the night off from having to figure out what I’m going to make for dinner.
I’m especially thankful for small companies and trendy young business owners who do a great job of throwing parties at crazy art galleries.
I’m also grateful for open bar and more specifically, white wine.
Mama could really use a drink. It’s been a long week.
I’d like to give thanks for grazing stations full of dishes for omnivores and herbivores alike.
I am grateful for art gallery tours and the opportunity to do a little snickering over awkward art.
Today I am the most grateful for the best nights sleep I’ve had in well over a week, as well the abundance of time and energy available for a run this morning.
I’d like to give a BIG THANKS and shout out to my memory for remembering everything I learned from winter running last year. Thank you, Brain, for not making me spend the whole winter getting it figured out again this year.
Two layers YO! One layer on the bottom to wick away moisture and sweat, a lighter layer on top to keep some heat in and some cold air out.
Keep your iPod toasty warm by wearing it inside your coat.
And don’t forget that even if it’s 20 degrees outside…
dry pavement is the biggest factor in what it takes to have an enjoyable its-almost-winter morning run.
Thank you Running for the healthy dose of feel good hormones and allowing me to get totally lost in my thoughts for a full 35 minutes and 21 seconds.
I’m also thankful we’re out of coffee because it meant the man of the house would make juice instead of a pot of caffeine.
And lastly, I’m thankful for juice delivery services that allow me to get upstairs and sit at my desk while I get caught up on my virtual life.
When I asked him what was in it, he said “Everything”. From the looks and tastes of it (and from what I observed going into the juicer as I stood there taking pictures) it would be Tomato Carrot Beet Garlic Ginger Juice this morning – and it was awesome.
Have you put garlic in your juicer yet? Get on it! You can thank me later.
I’m thankful for bloggie friends like YOU!
I was just heading over to see what I had missed and to review some of your older ‘juicing’ posts because I can see a box that has been placed under our tree that looks like it could possibly be a juicer (I don’t really know what a juicer box looks like, but if I had to guess, this would be it!). So, I am heading to Sprouts this weekend to stock up on produce because come Christmas morning if my kiddos DID buy me a juicer I want to be prepared!!!
I’m going to click juice on your ‘topic cloud’ to see if I can get some ideas!! Being the Virgin juicer that I am I have no idea what I need!!!
xoxo
Okay, that art is seriously weird LOL!
I love your new house! It has all the character that old homes have and the fun surprises that goes with them.
Brave you on the 20 degree run. My max lowest temp of running was 15 degrees and it was just too cold!
I’m thankful this year that I have a membership to a gym that is 2 miles from my house and I can go hit the treadmill to run 😀
Glad you got to enjoy a nice party! Yeah – that art’s all the rage, and I don’t quite get it. To each her own!
I LOVE your upstairs laundry chute – that is so cool that it’ built-in like that!
We have the same juicer – love it and easy to clean. I’ve thrown garlic in when I’ve made the garlic/ginger/lemon/honey cold fighter, but otherwise I throw ginger into everything. Your juice looks yummy! Can beets go in there raw?
Hey Carby – yes, beets go straight in raw! Beet juice is pretty intense so don’t use a lot to start. Zak has said they taste like dirt, but with lots of other veggies they are no big deal.
Wow, I love non serious art. I actually get those paintings! Hah.
I bet your wonderful night sleep was because of the wine. No, I know it is. Wine is the best sleep aid there is.
You look great by the way!!
What a fun office party..I don’t go to ours anymore..Casinos…they love smokey casinos. I’ll enjoy yours via your post! I love art…but that WAS odd. what’s with the pig-baby. sheez!
My JJ would be the first to slide down a chute…thank goodness we didn’t end up with one…lock up the cat though…haha.
love that Zak makes you juice some days. That reminds me…I should go clean last night’s dishes so I can break out my juicer. It’s SATURDAY and I need one!
you look amazing miss A!!! You look so relaxed and happy! good for you!
Very cool Christmas party. Much better than ours…held at hotels with lots of fried food options I’m not sure I can do the cold running thing. You’re a trooper in my eyes.
Wow, some of that art is…..interesting. Pretty cool though. Sounds like it was a great start to the weekend.
what a fun office party! i always dreamed of living in a house with a laundry chute…
WOW quite a spread!
Your juice looks delicious too!
Happy weekend,
Katie

The art-work at the gallery is so cool! i love funky art like that!
i can’t believe move-in day is so soon! i bet your so excited!
“Mama could really use a drink. It’s been a long week.”
Girl. AFter your week, yes! Hope you enjoyed. I know this sounds crazy. But, I have not drank in 4 yrs. Between pg, nursing, and fearing a hangover and a small toddler, I have abstained. But am thinking of going all out with a pina colada this trip. Not sure though. Back in the day I was a HEAVY really heavy drinker. And now I am debating a p colada.
Nice juicer action too LOVE it.
Girlfriend go have a Pina Colada! S is certainly big enough and as they say “if it’s safe to drive, it’s safe to nurse”. If you don’t feel tipsy then no worries.
I worked at an auction house for a year and that stuff’s got nothing on some of the things I have seen! haha!! still pretty weird though.
and I’m so behind – I lack a juicer, let alone putting garlic in it.
I can imagine you saw some crazy stuff Jess! There was plenty of pieces that I definitely didn’t think were blog appropriate – at least given the fact that I blog about food. Maybe for my next blog though? 😉
Working at an auction house sounds like it must have been so cool – we use to go to auctions all the time when we were newly married and looking for furniture and household items to fill our apartment. I bet you’ve got some great stories.
The holiday party looks like a lot of fun. Hubby and I are both college instructors, so there are no fancy holiday parties to attend. Not that I miss my corporate America jobs AT ALL, but the holiday parties were great fun… 😉
Thanks for the garlic in juice reminder. I have actually been meaning to do that. Honestly. It’ll happen very soon…
Happy Weekend!
You are going to totally LOVE that laundry chute!!! But some days, you will also wish for a dumbwaiter to haul the clothes BACK UP!
Can’t wait to see the house – really sorry it didn’t work this weekend.
XOXOXO
I had a laundry chute growing up and it was often my job to put the clothes down the laundry chute. I smell a very similar chore coming down the road for Ava and Maxine as well.
