Shakey Fists

November 30th, 2009 | Posted by Alison Spath in Breakfast

I was off dark and early to the gym this morning. I was |this close| to driving there, when at the last minute I put my keys back and just ran there in the dark instead. It takes me 5 minutes to get there by car considering the time it takes to give the car a minute to warm up, park and walk into the building. Might as well just spend the 8 minutes running there and get my body warmed up instead.

I spent 25 minutes on the stair climber this morning before the 1 mile run back home for 40 minutes total. It was still dark when I left the gym at 6:55. *Shaking my fist at the tilt of the earth on it’s axis and it’s current angle to the sun*

I got there early this morning and was home just after 7:00 to give Zak time to swim laps before work this morning. *Shaking my first at a husband who had be dragged out bed and sweetly reminded that I went early today so he would have time to go.*

Love you honey! Smootch smootch! Thanks for bringing home the facon bacon!

Upon returning home I enjoyed some fresh pineapple for a little rehydration after sweating like fiend for those 25 minutes on the stair climber. *Shaking my fist at that blasted machine!*

Fresh Pineapple

I’m now enjoying my bowl of overnight oats, prepped last night before bed.

1/2 c rolled oats
1/2 smashed banana
1 Tbsp Almond Butter
1/2 c unsweetened almond milk

Topped this morning with the other half of the banana and 1 Tbsp ground flax because I forgot to add it to the mix last night. *Shaking my fist at the sneaky bag of flax seed hiding in the drawer* *Also shaking my fist at the “out of sight, out of mind” cliche*

Monday Breakfast

And a cup of Candy Cane Lane tea with some agave nectar!

Monday Overnight Oats

Now I’m off to see what else I can shake my fist at today.

Nice job on the workout this morning! The first day back after a holiday weekend is def fist shaking worthy. mmmmm pineapple. One of my most favorite fruits. Hope your day is NOT fist shake worthy- maybe smile worthy instead :)

My husband is the same way when I get up early to get my workout in early so he can go after me. I nearly shove him out of bed so he can get in his workout. I have contemplated running to my gym before….unfortunately my gym is like 5 miles or so, so my morning workout would take a lot longer, but I may try it this spring. Happy Monday!

I was shaking my fist at the hubs for the same reason this morning… I hurried through my workout so that I could be out of the shower in time for him to hop in at 6:30 am… and then he was dilly-dallying all around the house till close to 7:00… I was like “Gosh I’m so glad I worked out early and RUSHED into the shower to be out by 6:30…” :) Gotta love them though! :)

I still can’t believe you run in the dark. Not me sister. No way, no how. I am the scaredy-est of all scaredy-cats! :) I don’t even like going to dark ROOMS in my own house! (Apparently I’m still 6 years old!)

    Have a great night!

And Mmmmm to the peppermint tea! I had some too this morning!

hahah.. i always shake my fist at things. loved this. and i really admire your motivation to run in the dark! and the cold, no less! hope your day did not require too much more shaking of the fist :)

  • Yay for candy cane tea! I’ve yet to see it pop up in the grocery stores around here, but when it does I’m stocking up.

Your overnight oats look absolutely fabulous by the way. 😀

  • Love the pineapple. LOVE it. I swear, I clean like 2 pineapples a week round here and there’d be more if it didnt give a certain 2 yr old a rash if she eats too much. We both adore it.

    xoxo

Thanks for a wonderful idea for my breakfast tomorrow. It can be tough to figure out what to eat when I am in a hurry, but I can definitely just make this tonight!
