Zak didn’t exactly get to go home early today due to garlic breath, but he did get home earlier than usual tonight. We loaded the whole family into the car and hit up the pool at the fitness center for some family fun and exercise too.
Swimming is probably my least favorite form of cardio, but I rather enjoyed it tonight. Maybe because I haven’t swam laps since the spring? Whatever the reason, it was a nice change of pace and I swam laps for 30 minutes, alternated 100 yards of freestyle and 100 yards backstroke while Zak entertained children in the shallow end. He got his turn to swim laps while I took cold, wet girlies into the locker room for nice long hot showers on someone else’s dime (forgive me, Mother Earth), blow drying hair and hiding in lockers until dad was done and ready to go.
So what’s the best thing to do after an evening at the pool?
First, make a bucket of air popped corn.
Next, get out the coconut oil.
It’s time to give your chlorine dried out face a little TLC.
Did you read that whole label? Go back and read it! Take special note of the part that says “soft, smooth skin”. A giant, HUGE shout to Cindy for bringing this miracle moisturizer to my attention!
So, where were we? Oh yes, dig out a little coconut oil.
Ready?
Time for a rub down.
Oh yeah, get in there really good.
Smear it all around. Yup, yup, that’s the ticket.
Totally loved this. Totally will be doing this again. Totally not telling anyone my new beauty secret.
Oops.
You’ve done it now! Gone and told the WORLD your secret to world domination…I mean your secret of exquisite beauty!
I just ate some of my facial moisturizer!
Did you totally LOVE IT….
I do!
it’s Mas time! you SMELL so good! even from HERE!
And did you know that really crunchy moms swear by coconut oil as sunscreen? I dont use sunscreen on me or my child unless we’re on the equator and the sun’s really hot (where we’ll be in 3 weeks, yay!) but yeah, coconut oil apparently works. And it’s also great for dry hair ends. And diaper areas. Really it has like 23 uses.
I just bought that coconut oil for cooking last week, but thanks for the tip on a better use!
I love swimming and lived at the pool almost my whole life, can’t wait to have kids and take them!
Lap swimming can get a bit boring. I really love to swim, but I gotta keep it interesting by doing intervals…like every other 100 fast or 10×100 intervals etc etc. Never knew coconut oil was a good mosturizer. It really is an amazing oil.
Nice! I love that you two find ways to both get some good quality time in with the girls and exercise. Good stuff. I had some popcorn after dinner too and it was fantastic
Do you put anything on your popcorn…Butter?
Yup, butter. Real butter! 1 Tbsp has 100 calories. I usually use a 1/2 melted tablespoon with a large bowl to stir it all around – it goes a long way.
Hilarious!
I have the same coconut oil, I tried it on my face too an almost forgot, I must send Cindy a note Thanking her for the tip!! And the other day while using it to cook my lips were a bit chapped, so guess what I used? A little dab will do ya!!
xoxo
I love using coconut oil as moisturizer! It is especially great on legs after shaving!
Where do i get this! o please o please let me know! My skin is sooooooo dry and if i can use this miracle cream and have perfect skin like yours, then sign me up! love it! (fyi you better believe i read that whole bottle label
I find it in the natural food section at Wegmans, with the other oils. I’m positive they have it at Whole Foods or Trader Joes… or any health food store for that matter! You will LOVE IT. It’s seriously awesome!
