I totally agree with Nicole about the Daily Plate (free) at Livestrong.com -- it rocks. I used it for a while back when I counted calories and found it WAY better than other counters I'd used, partly because they had a LOT of the healthy stuff in their database already (like supplements) that were lacking in other programs.

While I don't count calories currently, I completely understand where you are coming from and recommend calorie counting for my clients when they have a "number" they want to reach. I believe that the only way to TRULY be able to control what you lose (and when) is done when you know your calories in and out. When you have a specific goal in mind, it's the way to go.

I think you look great already, but will cheer you on for sure. Don't stress about it though! You have a lot on your plate already with you upcoming move!

no problem! Trust me, it is so much easier than doing it all manually. And it's free! I forgot to mention that!

you know, calorie counting DOES serve a purpose because at the end of the day, you do need to burn more than you consume. just don't let it consume YOU - that's all i am saying. other than that, i am cheering you on girl! WORK. IT. OUT.

i have been feeling off track too - i need to clean some things up, get back on a schedule and WORK. IT. OUT. with you. ya heard?

love you mama!

My sister and I used to have a food journal of where we kept track of everything, and I mean everything from calories and food we ate to how many calories we burned. It was good at first for us though it created a lot of un-wanted stress and almost ruined our sister-ship. So now with eating raw foods we don't keep track of anything and have actually lost a few pounds without even trying. Though, we still suffer from digestive issues due to our sluggish colon, so we are starting a new type of food journal - mainly to keep track of what we ate and how we felt. This way we can see what foods make our tummies happy and what ones upset it. It all depends on your goal of the journal and where you are in your life. I think give it a try and see where it leads you. Good luck!

I also love the candlelight! How festive :)

I hear you on the calorie counting front. I feel like I JUST learned, after years of trying to get there, how to seperate calorie counting as a tool to lose weight, and calorie counting as an obsession/part of my life. I have learned how to make it about losing weight, and being positive about that, vs. letting it control my every thought and food choice! And I cannot believe you lost 23 pounds in 2.5 months! You must have been a machine!! Totally motivating.

Oh wait, I guess that's you regardless. So yes, I can believe it.

I agree, calorie counting is where it's at! If the calorie police come around, I have your back, don't worry.

Don't feel embarrassed about counting calories again. I think it's good to do that every once in a while while you are maintaining so you can make sure you are still on track. :)

I've never heard of a buttercup squash before. That soup sounds really good. I bet the sweet and salty were a great combo!

Love the candles, too. (hehe)

I am glad you liked the soup Mama!! :) I never thought to try it with the buttercup. I have a sunshine squash and its really sweet. Maybe I will make it again with that one. That soup also left me surprisingly full :).

I think calorie counting can be a good a refresher. I don't like to do it, I mean who does? Really? But sometimes its a good thing to do to keep you in check. I probably run to my computer and do it about 1 or 2 x's every couple of weeks just out of curiosity.

I highly recommend using Daily Plate. It is amazing and almost addicting (just ask Heab's) hehe.

Are you going to be posting your counts? I am right there with you on losing the last 10 except I think its creeped up to about 15. Oops!
