We hit up the apple orchard again today after my friend Sharon saw my post from last week. I figured I’d better go before I had a chance to finish our 11 lb bag.
Before we left, her girls drank green lemonade and after they were done I was totally jealous that my kids will not.
After juice but before we left I tried one of these Heart Thrive bars I picked up the other day.
Before I finished it I knew I was going to need something to drink after I was done. This sucker was dry!
After an afternoon full of new house related phone calls and tasks, but before we left to get groceries I had some chia pudding.
After you add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 1/2 cup of your milk of choice with a dash of cinnamon and a tablespoon or so of agave, give it a good stir before you stick it in the fridge for a few hours.
After grocery shopping, it was time to make dinner.
Uh oh – better eat this spinach before it goes bad!
Before I made a spinach salad, I steamed some beets.
After I saw purple cauliflower at Wegmans today, I had to have some!
My salad was ready before my roasted cauliflower and sweet potatoes were.
After my veggies roasted for about 30 minutes at 350, it was time to eat.
I’ve got apples baking in my oven right now before they go bad! I’ll show you tomorrow after they’re done.
I better hit publish before I fall asleep, it’s been a long day after all!
Before I say good night…I want to know if I can come have some apples AFTER they are done!
and before you get too jealous of kiddos who WILL consume veggie drinks…just know I wish I could jog to the store AFTER I realize I made banana cereal with out bananas.
I love your word games…I always wish I had that creativity before I hit publish…and then AFTER I could sit and SMILE…
Have a great night and hopefully you’ll get great rest!
Before I say goodnight for good…I wanted to tell you I get to STAY home tomorrow AFTER all!
hehe
xo
I want to try that purple cauliflower, yum!
Don’t you love those heart thrives, amazing!
mmm more baked apples! lovin it!
The trick to those Heart Thrives is to microwave them for like 20 seconds. They get nice and warm and soft like an oatmeal cookie! I hope you have the other one left to try it.
Thank you for this tip – totally gonna try it!
I have never even heard of those Heart Thrives thingeys. Learn somethin’ new every day
I can’t wait to hear how the raw AVerie donut holes go over at your bring a dish to share event! LMK how they go! Cheap n easy for you, that’s for sure.
Beets. Love but can only do small amts as they make me go into liver detox easily.
Purple cauli-never had, looks awesome, I love cauli. To the tune of like a third of a head per day!
So, now I want to test the green lemonade with Snuffy….hmmm
A new house! How exciting. I am totally jealous of your apple trip! And what a fabulous dinner. I love colored cauli, have you tried the “fiesta flower”- aka the orange one?
I haven’t tried it yet but I saw it yesterday with the purple – orange will be up next! 😉
I LOVE this post! I also love apple picking and heart thrive cookies! The chocolate chip ones are amazing!
Purple cauliflower??? I’ve never seen that before. Does it taste any different? I usually steam mine so I’ll have to try roasting it next time.
It looks like you had a beautiful day for picking. All of our local farms are already picked over. They said the season starts in late August and by now there’s nothing left. I love the Fuji apples. I’ve been adding them to my salads lately and it’s sooo good!
Yup Jennifer it tastes exactly the same as white!
Your posts are always so much fun!
I have been wanting to get some purple cauliflower forever…
Before I read this post I was frowning. After I read this post, it was smiles all the way!
😀
Alison you are blowing my mind with those purple cauliflowers!
Heart Thrives ARE really dry, but I recently tried heating it up in the microwave and it helped wonders!! Plus it made it so much more delicious. I’m sure the apple flavor heated up would taste similar to an apple pie??
