A Foodie Day

October 3rd, 2009 | Posted by Alison Spath in Dinner Time

It’s been a foodie day in photos to say the least.

My mom and I stopped about midway during our 2 1/2 hour drive for lunch at a Greek restaurant.

Greek Food For Lunch

Quite possibly the best tasting Vegetable Souvlaki ever. I’m sure part of the reason it why was so delicious was due to the fact that I was positively starving by the time we sat down to eat!

We got to our hotel at about 3:00 – thrilled with our view of the city from our room!

View From Hotel

After dropping our bags in the room we hit the streets for what would be lots of walking and window shopping.

Check out that rainbow!

Rainbow!

I got to hit up my first juice bar today too. We don’t have anything like this in our area. A beet, spinach, apple, carrot, green pepper juice for me. It did not disappoint.

First Juice Bar

This giant juicer did not disappoint either! What a beast – I’ve got juicer envy. Juice bars are EVERY.WHERE. here. No joke, I’m shocked!

Beast of Juicer

More walking, walking, walking.

More City

More City Streets

For dinner tonight we hit up a vegetarian restaurant that was a basically a HUGE buffet of about 30 various vegetarian dishes, vegetables, salads.

I wanted a little of everything!

Hot Foods

And that’s exactly what I did – got a little of everything. At least it certainly looks like I got a little of everything.

Sampling Plate

More touring the city by foot to help digest a mountain of vegetables.

Dark

And a little something sweet to round out a day in foodie adventures, so much good food today! I’m glad there was so much walking today, too.

Oat Fudge Bar

My mom tried to get a decaf coffee from Starbucks at 8pm and they said they stop brewing decaf at noon?? What’s that all about? Doesn’t that seem completely backwards?

My legs and feet are aching, time to hit the sack. Looking forward to the hotel gym in the AM and MORE good eats tomorrow too!

They stop making decaf at noon or they were lazy and already cleaned it all up?
Great restaurants you found with really good food. I need to find a juice bar close to me!

    What a beautiful city!!!

As for decaf not being brewed after noon at Starbucks is really silly. I also had that same problem and I was puzzled at how dumb that sounded!! They are suppose to offer to brew it for you if you ask for it.

  • Nice food spread and nice juicer shot! Wow, impressive. EVen more impressive is you’re likely posting from a hotel and you’ve been a posting machine the past 24 hrs my dear. Enjoy your trip, blog later :)

  • Nicole says:

Um yeah, they were lazy! I worked at Starbucks during college, and we did not do that!! We brewed decaf on the top of EVERY hour. They probably already cleaned up!!

Yay for momcations! Looks like a great time and awesome food. Jealous about that juicer too!

Mmm, Jugo Juice. I’ve been going there since they opened their very first store, which was in my city. We have literally 30+ locations now. It makes me happy when local companies succeed.

we have a juice bar at my local Sprouts and their juicer is JUST like that one…I so have juicer envy (and job envy)

do you think a perk for the juice girl is she can make herself what she wants?

when I am retired I am gonna run a juice bar somewhere!
    would be AWESOME!
