Today I saw a new recipe for hummus – cashew hummus! Raw cashews will be playing the roll of tahini today – thanks for understanding.
Peer into my food processor bowl. You must! You have no choice!
1 15 oz can of garbanzo beans, drained but not rinsed
1 c raw cashews
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil, a drizzle more if necessary
Juice from one lemon (about 4 Tbsp of lemon juice I’d guess)
Sprinkle of cayenne pepper
A few shakes of dried basil (or fresh would be better but I didn’t have any!)
All ingredients into the food processor and voila! Hummus Mountain!
This hummus had a totally unique taste, I think I liked it better than it’s tahini partner in crime to be honest.
Now tell me, is there anything more rocking than eating a hummus sandwich on a Friday night?
I didn’t think so.
You’re welcome.
So cool!!! It’s mesmerizing! I could watch it all day! haha. That’s so fun
I am easily amused by the way.
Nice graphics there at the end miss computer programmer scientist woman
And you’re recipe sounds really good too
xoxo
That is so awesome! How did you do that??!!!!
Cashew hummus sounds incredible!
Hi Alison,
The hummus sounds lovely. Definitely going to try this as I’ve not fallen in love with any of my home-made attempts and I think maybe the tahini is to blame.
Libby
Love the action shot!

WOW….and that bread looks (looked) great!
what a great action shot! i think i probably watched it about 5 times because it was so mesmerizing!

Excited that after reading your blog, I now have Brazier’s Thrive and Chi Running waiting for me at the public library. I know where I will be heading tomorrow morning!
NICE job !
I love that you tweaked it and used Cashews for Tahini….but if you have so many raw cashews, can I borrow a cup?
I really want to make that vegan cheesecake!
and while you here, let’s go see Whip it!
dessert and a movie!
I know a magician never reveals his secrets but I am gonna bug you on how you did that till you spill the hummus!
LOVED IT.
OH
did you soak the “shews” first? can’t tell.
The hummus sounds great!
Your disappearing sandwich made me smile! See, I’m still smiling…
Have a great weekend!
Woah! That slideshow effect is sooo cool. Very savvy!
Why did that just make my Friday night? I am a foodie dork.
Bah! I’m a little sad because when I finally start my blog (hopefully this weekend) I was totally planning on including stop-motion food eating photography as a feature.
I can’t be too miffed, though, it’s just too much fun ๐
Wow…HOW did you do that???? Very cool!!! Did you have to take a picture after every bite? (haha)
That hummus sounds delicious!
Okay, that little sandwich eating thing was crazy. How the hell did you pull that one off?
I used Animation Shop to create an animated gif! ๐
WOAHHHHH. That’s awesome. I was super confused – I thought I was accidentally scrolling down the page and was seeing different pictures.
I love the GIF! You are so creative! This is better than a teenager’s MySpace page with blinking Twilight graphics!!! ๐
