The picture of Maxine tossing her shoes out cracked me up!!! OMG!!! She sounds like Jonathan. He will carry on and on about a topic if it didn’t go the way he wanted. Too funny!

That dressing sounds divine! Who would of thought about cashews in a dressing. Cool!!!

And I’m guessing you grabbed those shoes out when she wasn’t looking.

I am guessing you got them because I wouldn’t have wanted to carry her back to the car. I know Gabbie would be even more mad at me for putting shoes that were in the garbage back on her feet.

I’m guessing “No”!

We did the same thing with toys the other night. Someone refused to put them away, so I said if I was picking them up, I was throwing them away. She called my bluff for a second, but that twinkle in her eye just about forced me to get the trash bag. And toys went into it, and out to the trash (of course, I pulled them from the trash so that I could give them to a neighbor or something). The only thing lately that is getting her to pick up toys is when we say “If you leave them out overnight, that other little girl is going to come and take them.” Throwing away doesn’t matter, but someone else getting to play with HER toys…forget it!

Hi Alison,

I’m guessing you got the shoes but plan to donate them back to charity. My Mum used to threaten Christy like that and she’d always go along with the throw out choice too .

Both lunch and the dressing look delicious.

Hmmm… only $4 at the consignment store AND they are almost too small…I would have left ‘em. Little girls can be so dramatic! Snuffy always wants to wear my pearls…I let her! However, she is in daycare until our sitter is off maternity leave and they won’t let her wear them there (safety issue). So, the first few days she freaked out. Now, she doesn’t even remember them

hahah.. the shoe fiasco had me laughing. you are such a good momma. i am so curious about if you got them. i think you left them though, you are right, it could alter things for life! and yes, the book is definitely the reason.
