You are in luck. Today you’ve got front row seats to an epic battle.
Vegetables vs. The Juicer. Place your bets.
In this corner we’ve got raw fruits and vegetables. Teeming with live enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. A tough crowd to take down, their approach will most likely be a herd attack.
And this corner:
The Supreme Juicerator.
He may be old. He may have been a hand-me-down. But he’s a beast and has yet to meet his match.
(My money’s on The Juice.)
But before today’s battle, there was a run. A long run. As part of my half marathon training I slugged out 10 miles in 1:22:43 making my average pace 8:18. I left early and beat most of the heat. I got lost in New Moon and the time seemed to fly by.
I returned home to be the referee in the juicing ring.
Sorry folks, nothing to see here. The Supreme Juicerator holds on to his title. Zak and I reaped the rewards of our wager and hit the live enzyme jackpot.
It’s been a while since I had a breakfast cookie. Today was the day.
There was only one banana left which meant only one breakfast cookie could be made. I wasn’t going to risk having it eaten by mistake while I was out on my run by a certain man that lives in this house that shall remain nameless. I was sure to mark my territory last night before I stuck in the fridge to let it do its cookie magic.
Do I sound like a selfish heartless shrew? One might think so but you weren’t here when Zak asked “what’s the difference” between a breakfast cookie and overnight oats.
What’s the difference? WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?!?
Where to even begin?
It was at that point that I realized that he doesn’t really care. He just ransacks the fridge for something to shovel in his trap first thing in the morning. I made Ava and Zak got overnight oats and I put my breakfast cookie out of site so it wouldn’t be swept up in a feeding frenzy. My “A” was simply my insurance policy.
Safe and sound, topped this morning with the other half of the sole banana.
And now I’m ready to officiate the battles between Thing 1 and Thing 2 today. Off to find my whistle. And my net.
HAHAHA…please, let’s be friends. you are too funny. however, my fave thing is max’s tap shoes in the back of her tricycle from yesterday. precious
thanks again for the guest post, and it is good to know – the juicer ALWAYS wins out.
happy humpday!
Call me corny but I was totally infatuated with the Twilight series!! Let us know how you like New Moon! Also, my husband doesn’t notice the differences in food either!! He eats a sandwich EVERY day for lunch. One day we were out of jelly so I packed him just a peanut butter sandwich. Yeah, he didn’t even notice!! *Men*

Haha…oh my. Your blog always make my day. 😀
And there’s absolutely nothing selfish about marking one’s food…ha! I have an entire shelf devoted to “my food” in the refrigerator. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. 😀
Because my hubby is a carnivore I often write names on the leftovers in the fridge. There are often 2 versions of a dish- one with meat and one vegetarian.
Almost forgot- there is an award for you on my blog.
I really enjoy reading yours!
i need to try breakfast cookies- i have been contemplating it for months and months!
does it keep you satisfied?
hahaha you crack me up. I love the “A” on your cookie! I am territorial over my food too…especially when there is only one banana left. I will hide them in a cabinet before I go running so I don’t have to risk someone eating it! haha
Ahhh, glad you got to eat your cookie! I really need to try making me one of the little delicious looking devils!
that’s too funny that you “branded” your cookie i need to find a hand me down juicer – they’re so expensive brand new!
Lovin the A!!! I am lucky my hubby pretty much doesn’t touch any of my eats. Especially the ones that “look” healthy. haaha. I had a juicer but its nowhere to be found??? I have pretty much been doing the same as you. I go almost all raw until night and that is when I eat me up some nice cooked protein. Mmmm I am convinced that my legs would break if I ran 10 miles!!

Oh, I just love your blog!
Ha I love the ‘A’ in the cookie!
Love the battle – too funny Alison! I’m going to make up a breakfast cookie to try tomorrow morning – they sure do look good.
It’s 6am here and I’m off to the gym for cardio.

Dear A,
I would like to thank you for introducing me to dates + almond butter through your blog. I purchased some dates a few weeks ago (yum) and remembered the d+ab snack from your blog. Hello, absolutely amazing new favorite appetite appeaser!!! (Really going for the alliteration with your bfast cookie here.) I am in lurrveeee.
I really love your posts. So funny. Also, I am jealous of your juicer. I think I might scout around the RI thrift stores this weekend to see if I can find an oldie but a goodie too. I am obsessed with reusing and recycling this year. I just love people’s old junk!
Affectionately and agreeably yours,
E
